Post-pitch story
Meghan Scanlon left Stripe after watching an 18-month enterprise deal fall apart over product gaps nobody had surfaced. In Season 15 (Episode 177, "Aleoop: Show Me the Sales!") she pitched Aleoop, an AI tool that mines a company's Gong, Slack, Salesforce and Jira data to find the product gaps that are quietly costing revenue. She was raising $1 million. The panel — Elizabeth Yin, Jesse Middleton, Laura Lucas and Mike Ma — pushed hard on one thing: Aleoop had users but no paying customers. "Free is always scary," Mike Ma told her, and Laura Lucas urged her to start charging immediately. The Pitch's founder page for Scanlon carries a "Funded" tag, so someone in the room said yes, though the show's public notes don't spell out who invested or how much. Around the same time, Aleoop announced a seed investment from Beacon Angels, with the amount undisclosed. PitchBook lists the company at four employees and "generating revenue," with an earlier small seed round in 2025. One oddity: PitchBook says Aleoop was founded in 2020, which doesn't match the show's story of Scanlon building it after leaving Stripe — possibly a data error or an earlier venture folded into the company. We've found no independent revenue or customer figures since the episode.
