Post-pitch story
Dean Eberhardt is an engineer who looked at how craft beer gets its hoppy flavor and saw a lot of waste. Dry-hopping, the process behind many IPAs, uses large amounts of hops, soaks up beer and gives inconsistent results. ReCraft's answer is a water-based hop concentrate that brewers can add instead. It came out of Hoplark, ReCraft's sister company and the maker of HopTea. ReCraft pitched on Season 12, Episode 8, which aired in October 2024. According to a May 2025 video from the show, the investors on the panel passed, saying beer wasn't their area of expertise. That account comes from The Pitch's own promotion, so we're treating it carefully, but we found no sign that any of the panel invested. ReCraft kept going. Its website now lists Simeon Margolis as CEO alongside founder Dean Eberhardt, and the company is actively looking for craft breweries to run pilot programs with its concentrate. What we couldn't find are funding amounts, revenue figures or named brewery customers. That makes ReCraft one of the quieter stories this season. The idea is a smart one for an industry under pressure to cut costs, and a few well-known breweries signing on could change the story quickly.
