CosmicBrain AI
Post-pitch story
Anto Patrex pitched CosmicBrain AI in Season 15 (Episode 178, "CosmicBrain AI: How to Train Your Robot"). The platform lets anyone train robots using consumer VR and AR glasses: a person records first-person video of a task, and CosmicBrain converts it into training data for vision-language-action models. Patrex positioned it as a cheaper, faster alternative to the teleoperation rigs factories use to retrain robot arms, with giants like Amazon and Walmart as the dream customers. He was raising $5 million. The pitch landed. CosmicBrain raised $250,000 on the show from five investors: Cyan Banister, Charles Hudson, Immad Akhund, Monique Woodard and Rohit Gupta — a rare full-panel deal. A third-party episode summary also claims the appearance helped close a $1 million pre-seed and open the $5 million seed round, but that detail isn't corroborated anywhere else. CosmicBrain was a TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 Startup Battlefield company, which lists three founders — Patrex, Chi Chiu and Ed Miner — even though the show framed Patrex as a solo pitcher. The company is based in California and still operating. We found no confirmation that the larger seed round has closed.
