Pitched on the show
Blake's Seed Based
Post-pitch story
Blake Sorensen pitched Blake's Seed Based as a snack that kids with food allergies could actually eat. The bars and snacks are made from seeds instead of nuts, so they're safe for school lunchboxes. Since the show, the Chicago company has quietly turned into a real retail brand. It has raised about $7 million in total, according to PitchBook, including a 2023 round. In 2026 Blake's reformulated its line to remove seed oils and cut sugar to 3 grams. In May 2026 Sorensen announced the company's biggest retail launch yet: Breakfast Bars in about 2,700 Walmart stores. Sorensen is still CEO, leading a team of around 18 people. The pitch was about a snack that every kid at the lunch table could share, and that idea is now on shelves across the country.
