Tap For Service
Post-pitch story
Brian Gorham started Tap For Service in Columbus, Ohio, in October 2017. It's software that helps home service businesses like cleaners, landscapers and handymen schedule jobs, send invoices and dispatch crews from one app. It isn't flashy, but small service businesses really need it. Years after the pitch, Tap For Service is still running. The iOS app was still getting updates in October 2024, and Gorham lists the company as active. He says it has processed millions of dollars in bookings and more than 100,000 completed appointments. The team is tiny, about two people, and there's no sign of venture funding. This is a bootstrapped business that keeps going. Gorham has also been busy outside of Tap For Service. He's worked as a founding engineer at the venture-backed startups Moxie and eFuse, and in January 2025 he co-founded a new AI company, Codent AI. Tap For Service isn't the kind of story that makes headlines, but plenty of pitch companies would trade for its record. It's a self-funded product that real businesses have used for over seven years, built by a founder who keeps shipping.
