Shipsi
Post-pitch story
Chelsie Lee pitched Shipsi to give every retailer what big online stores have: same-day delivery. The Los Angeles startup built a platform that connected stores with local couriers, and it caught the attention of bigger logistics companies. According to Lee's own profile, Shipsi was acquired by Auctane, a shipping-software company owned by Thoma Bravo, around 2021. Lee stepped down as CEO in 2023 to move into venture capital and advising. In September 2024, Rainmakers bought Shipsi from Auctane to add AI-driven logistics, and in early 2025 Shipsi launched a "lowest-cost last-mile guarantee" aimed at rising rates from the big carriers. Shipsi now runs under Rainmakers with Rye Akervik as CEO. It's a two-step exit for a pitch that was ahead of the same-day delivery wave.
