Dan Brown
Pitched on the show
Up-Rite Storage Rack
Post-pitch story
Dan Brown appeared on the show in Season 7's "How Startups Can Succeed in a Pandemic 2" episode with the Up-Rite Storage Rack, a ceiling-mounted rack for storing totes and gear overhead in the garage. It's a practical, hardware-store kind of product, and it had some early retail traction. In November 2022, the "UP-RITE STORAGE RACK" trademark was registered to Can Do Brands LLC. Since then, though, the trail has mostly gone cold. The racks are listed as sold out at retailers such as VMInnovations, related online store pages have sat "under construction" for years, and there's no sign of active advertising or social media for the brand. We couldn't find a current public role for Brown with the product. The brand appears to be dormant rather than formally closed, and it's possible the racks could return to shelves. But as far as we can tell from public sources, Up-Rite isn't actively selling today. If you know more about what happened to Up-Rite or Dan Brown, send us a tip and we'll update this page.
