The Labz
Post-pitch story
Farah Allen founded The Labz in Atlanta as a blockchain-based tool for musicians and filmmakers to protect their intellectual property while collaborating. On the show's "Friends & Family Gap" episode in late 2020, she spoke candidly about raising money without a wealthy network to lean on. Then the pandemic reshaped the company. The Labz pivoted from music-rights tooling into something much broader: a no-code platform for building interactive digital experiences — virtual galleries, branded spaces, gamified web events. The client list that followed is striking for a company of its size: Comcast, Amazon Prime, Salesforce, Microsoft, Delta Air Lines and the Television Academy. Funding databases credit the company with several rounds totaling a few million dollars, and in 2024 it expanded into Europe through a partnership in Dublin. Allen is still founder and CEO, and in 2025 she was named an Innovation Disruptor finalist at the ATP Awards. From protecting beats to building digital venues for Fortune 500 brands, The Labz is one of the show's more dramatic reinventions — and it worked.
