Jason Vego's pitch had a great hook: "A tech bro walks into a corner store…" Bevz builds software that helps independent convenience and liquor stores sell online and run their operations, which puts it up against the delivery giants for the neighborhood shop. The show aired in September 2023. In November 2024, Bevz closed a seed round of about $6 million, according to PitchBook. Early in 2025 it rolled out a tiered software subscription and an e-commerce revenue-share model aimed at modernizing how small stores operate. Then the founder story changed. In late 2025 Vego stepped back from day-to-day work to co-found a new company, Nightcap, and by 2026 his LinkedIn showed him as COO of RxPost. Bevz itself appears to keep going without him, with workforce trackers estimating about 20 employees. A founder leaving can be a warning sign, but for now the company the show heard about is still open for business, one corner store at a time.
