Pitched on the show
Uncovered
Post-pitch story
Jim Brown pitched Uncovered in September 2023 on "The Business of True Crime." Uncovered is a platform built around unsolved cases, connecting true-crime fans, families and investigators to cold cases. In the episode, Brown described a company in survival mode. Since then the turnaround has been dramatic: according to Caplight, Uncovered closed a Series A of about $25.5 million on June 30, 2026, reportedly led by SciFi Ventures and F-Prime Capital. That would make it one of the largest raises by any company from the show's recent seasons. One caveat: the round comes from a secondary-market data provider, and we haven't seen a company press release confirming the amount or the investors yet. If it holds up, Uncovered has gone from fighting to survive on the show to one of Season 10's biggest funding stories.
