Nectir
Post-pitch story
Nectir pitched a vision of the classroom of the future: AI assistants that teachers can customize to give students 24/7 educational support. Founder Kavitta Ghai, who started building the company as a college student, raised $1.4 million during her Season 11 pitch — and the company has been on a tear ever since. In December 2024, Nectir secured a $4 million seed round, covered by TechCrunch. Then in March 2026, the company announced a $12.5 million Series A led by Rethink Impact. Along the way, Nectir signed a landmark deal to support 2.1 million students across the entire California Community Colleges system — one of the largest deployments of AI tutoring in American higher education. The company says it now serves roughly 150,000 students across more than 130 institutions, with Ghai as CEO and Jordan Long as CTO. Nectir's trajectory is one of the strongest post-pitch stories in the show's history: an on-air raise, followed by two institutional rounds and a statewide contract, all within about two years of the episode. For a show built on the drama of the pitch, Nectir is proof that sometimes the pitch is just the beginning.
