Madeline Fraser pitched Gemist on "The Crown Jewel of Venture" in August 2023. Gemist lets shoppers design custom fine jewelry online, and it has been building the same tools for jewelry retailers. Investors have kept coming back. In June 2025, Fraser announced a $6 million seed round led by Collide Capital and The Artemis Fund. A few months later, Gemist launched new software features for retailers, including interactive visualization that lets customers see a design before it's made. That marks a shift from being a jewelry brand to also being a software company for the jewelry trade. In May 2026, Gemist added a small community round on Wefunder. CB Insights puts total funding at around $15 million, though we haven't confirmed how that total breaks down. For a company that walked into the show asking whether jewelry could be venture-scale, Gemist has made a pretty convincing case.
