Post-pitch story

Shannon Malkin Daniels founded Encaptiv in Stamford, Connecticut, in January 2018 with a mission to make meetings and events more engaging, using live polls, games and interactive tools to keep audiences paying attention. Then the pandemic arrived, and in-person events disappeared almost overnight. Encaptiv adapted quickly. In 2020 it revamped its software for virtual and hybrid events, and local press covered the Stamford entrepreneur reinventing her company to fit a world that had suddenly moved online. In 2022 the company explored the next frontier, looking at how events and meetings might work in the metaverse. But the trail goes quiet after that. Connecticut state records show Encaptiv's last annual report was filed for 2021, and by July 2026 the business was listed as "Forfeited" for failing to file further reports. Malkin Daniels has moved on to the stage herself. She now works as a professional speaker and authentic-communication expert, and founded "Drop The Mic Night," an event built around the same thing Encaptiv was always about: getting people to really connect with an audience. The company didn't make it through the post-pandemic reshuffle of the events industry, but its founder's focus on engagement clearly did.
