Partytrick
Post-pitch story
Virginia Frischkorn's Partytrick began in October 2022 as a $10-a-month app for people who love hosting: curated party themes, step-by-step plans and decor you could buy right from the app. By the time she pitched on Season 12, Episode 9 in October 2024, the episode was billed as "the pivot to tech" for a founder who came from event planning. That pivot kept going after the episode. In December 2024, Partytrick won $140,000 from the Greater Colorado Venture Fund at the Startup Colorado pitch competition, a program focused on founders building outside the big cities. There, Partytrick described itself as a business subscription platform built around "click, pick, host," a white-labeled tool other companies could offer their own customers. Today, Partytrick's website shows yet another version. It's an event-planning platform with structured "playbooks," reminders and curated shopping, serving both companies and individual hosts. The goal hasn't changed, making it easy to throw a great party, but who pays for it has. We couldn't find any revenue or user numbers since 2024, and the Colorado award was reported by one source. Partytrick is still running and still adjusting, the way early companies do. The next step is proving which version of the model sticks.
